Round 10 of the Stronger Communities Programme in Cowan has now open.

This initiative, funded by the Australian Government, provides grants to support small capital projects that deliver meaningful social benefits and foster stronger, more vibrant communities.

Key Details of the Programme:

Funding Available: Grants from $2,500 up to $20,000 are available for eligible small infrastructure projects.

For most eligible applicants, grant funding can cover up to 100% of eligible project costs. Local governing bodies can receive funding of up to 50% of eligible project costs and must provide matched funding for the remaining amount.

Eligible Projects: Projects must deliver infrastructure that provides social benefits to the local community and align with one or more of the program's objectives.

This can include projects that:

• support community participation, social cohesion and positive mental or physical health
• promote and support the mental and physical abilities of children
• improve access to public infrastructure for people with disability
• address gender inequality or discrimination in access to public infrastructure or sport
• support the participation and settlement of newly arrived migrants
• support veterans and Defence Force members, their families and communities
• support or celebrate Indigenous Australians
• support climate adaptation, resilience or native flora and fauna biodiversity
• provide medical services or facilities
• support eligible community infrastructure and equipment.

How to Submit an Expression of Interest

Organisations with an eligible project in the Cowan electorate are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to my office.

Expressions of Interest close at 5:00pm on Monday, 9 November 2026.

Please note that submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee funding. Following the EOI process, selected organisations will be nominated and invited to submit a formal application through the Australian Government's online grants portal.

We encourage eligible community organisations across Cowan to consider this opportunity and submit an EOI for projects that will strengthen local infrastructure and deliver meaningful benefits for our community.
