PALM SUNDAY BOMBINGS IN EGYPT
The bombing that killed 49 worshippers and injured dozens more on Palm Sunday in Tanta and Alexandria is a disgraceful attack on one of the most important days in the Christian calendar.
The attacks are the latest in a series of assaults on Egypt's Christian minority.
As an Australian of Egyptian heritage, I condemn this brutal ISIS campaign against the Egyptian Coptic community in the strongest possible terms.
I offer my condolences to the Coptic communities in Tanta and Alexandria, and to all those affected worldwide.
An attack on any place of religion is an attack on freedom of religion everywhere and I stand with the 100,000 Australians of the Coptic faith against this latest ISIS terror.
