MEETING VETERANS IN COWAN

Today, Federal Shadow Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Shadow Minister for Defence Personnel, Amanda Rishworth joined the Federal Member for Cowan, Dr. Anne Aly, and State Member for Willagee, Peter Tinley AM, to listen to local veterans and ex-service personnel.

Engaging first hand with veterans is so important to understanding some of the issues they are dealing with.

The city of Perth is a natural area for many of our veterans with the service bases which run in close proximity to the city.

Some of the issues raised at the morning tea included issues around transition and complications around the DVA claims process.

Thank you to the Wanneroo Sports and Social Club for hosting this event.

Our veterans’ deserve to be heard and their issues acknowledged.

We know that the issues which concern those in one veterans’ community do not necessarily mean this is an issue for another.

Their stories and experiences are invaluable on how we can better support their community.
