Delivering upgrades for local schools in Cowan

The Albanese Government is ensuring school students in Cowen have the modern facilities they need to thrive.

Member for Cowan, Dr Anne Aly, today announced $518,000 in funding for local school upgrades.

The funding will be shared between 10 local schools with projects ranging from sporting facilities to developing yarning circles.

Dr Aly said the projects will ensure local schools have the facilities they need to provide a stimulating learning environment.

“This investment will ensure students continue to receive the very best education right here in Cowan”, said Dr Aly.

“Our school upgrades are ensuring Australian families know that their children can access a great local education, no matter where they live”.

“Because we understand the value of quality education and the positive impact this funding will have on young people in Cowan and across Australia”.

Applications are currently open for the next round of funding, with $32 million available for new technology, classroom upgrades and outdoor learning areas.

Dr Aly is encouraging local schools to apply for the funding round.

“We’re ensuring local schools have the facilities our children need to thrive in their learning journey, Said Dr Aly.

“Schools are the lifeline of all local communities and I’d love to see every eligible school apply for this funding.”

The funding will go to schools most in need for projects worth up to $25,000 to create healthier and safer learning environments and help students get back on track after disruptions caused by COVID-19.
