In Round 6 of the Stronger Communities Programme, up to $150,000 of Commonwealth funding is available in Cowan for small capital projects which improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of our northern suburbs.
Expressions of interest for Round 6 are now closed, and Dr Aly and her consultation committee have made their recommendations to the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER).
Under the Stronger Communities Programme, eligible organisations can receive a grant of between $2,500 and $20,000 for a project. For Round 6 of the Programme, the Commonwealth waived the usual requirement for funding to be matched (for most organisations) - the grant can therefore contribute up to 100% of the total project cost.
If you'd like to prepare for future rounds, take a look at the Programme’s fact sheet and guidelines to see if your organisation qualifies! Any eligible organisation in Cowan can submit an expression of interest to Dr Aly's office - if approved by the consultation committee (made up of Dr Aly and local community members), organisations will be invited to apply for funding directly with the Department.
